As we honor our veterans today and all month BVL honors Andy’s visit to 14 European countries in 1965, which included visiting 8 U.S military bases in the UK and Germany to entertain the troops. Click here to view the complete article.
In 1965, during a multi-country European Tour sponsored by AMF, Andy entertained the U.S. Military at five of their bases in Germany. See the itinerary below for a list of the bases visited.
Andy teaches sailors the basics of bowling during his visits to U.S. naval bases during WW2. He also performed his trick shots and engaged in friendly competition with several of the sailors.

Andy Varipapa and Joe Norris toured many U.S. military bases during World War II to entertain and train the troops. Although this historical article indicates that Andy and Joe toured Europe, research could not find documented travel history outside the U.S. However, Andy and Joe did travel to Europe during the Cold War in 1951.
